Our story
Named for the moment
two lives are tied together.
A wedding is a set of bonds — the couple's first, and then everyone they trust to make the day real. We built a marketplace that treats both honestly.
In Mexican, Filipino, and Spanish wedding traditions, el lazo is a cord draped around a couple in a figure eight — an infinity loop — after they exchange vows. It marks a bond that can't be broken. We took the name because that's what a wedding is, and because the tie that binds ought to describe how this industry treats the people in it: honestly.
If you want the tradition itself rather than the company, we wrote the long version: what the lazo ceremony is and where it comes from →
Why we exist
Built by someone who paid for the leads
Lazo was founded by a working wedding vendor — a photographer and videographer who spent years on the other side of this marketplace. He paid for leads that never answered. He watched rankings get decided by who spent the most that month, on platforms that called it "featured placement" and hoped nobody read closely. He paid three subscriptions to do what should have been one job.
The pattern underneath all of it is the same: on most wedding platforms, the vendor is the customer and the couple is the product. That's why the lead you bought was sold to four other people. That's why the top result is the top result. Once you see it, you can't unsee it — and you certainly can't build the honest version by bolting it onto the same business model.
What we hold to
Three promises, and what they cost us
These aren't values on a wall. Each one is money we decided not to take.
- Rankings can't be bought. Not with ads, not with a subscription, not at any price, not for one week in one city. Pro sharpens a vendor's tools; it never touches their position. The revenue we give up here is the single most expensive thing about running Lazo, and it's the whole point. The full method is published →
- Every review comes from a verified couple. Someone who actually held their wedding with that vendor — not an email address that clicked a link. We don't take a review down because a vendor doesn't like it, and when one does come down, our moderation log says publicly why.
- Leads are free, and they're real people. $0 per lead, ever, and 0% of what a vendor books. A lead on Lazo is one couple writing to one vendor, with a real date and a real venue — not a contact detail resold five times before lunch.
How the money works
So what do we actually sell?
Tools. Listing, leads and booking are free forever for every vendor in every category. Lazo Pro is $79/month for the vendors who want text alerts the moment a lead lands, follow-up sequences, an availability calendar and analytics; Pro Studio adds contracts with e-signature, invoicing, and June, our AI copilot for the business side. Couples pay nothing, because a couple who is paying is a couple we'd be tempted to sell.
That's the entire list. If we ever add a line to it, it will be on this page before it is in the product.
Where we are
108 markets, and counting
We started in Phoenix, Denver and Dallas–Fort Worth, and we're now live across 108 metros with 119,000+ wedding businesses indexed — photographers, videographers, planners, venues, florists, caterers, DJs, bands, officiants and the rest of the people who make a wedding day happen. New cities go live when there are enough real vendors in them to give a couple a genuine choice, not the moment we can spell the city's name.
Lazo Weddings, LLC is based in Phoenix, Arizona. We're small on purpose: small enough that a person still reads every message that comes through the contact form, and small enough that the promises above are still decisions somebody makes rather than a policy somebody inherited.
